Law360, New York (March 16, 2016, 6:20 PM ET) — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama must turn over the data it used to calculate its medical loss ratio and profit and loss statements to subscribers suing them in antitrust multidistrict litigation, an Alabama federal judge said Tuesday.
Blue Cross’ offer to give the subscribers just the final databases used to calculate medical loss ratios and profit and loss statements is insufficient, U.S. Magistrate Judge T. Michael Putnam said, as the underlying data is needed to verify if the information is accurate and reliable.
